Our Work

Our Mission

To deepen the connection between the people of Ireland and America through targeted investment across the island, honoring our heritage by educating and empowering Ireland’s youth.

Connecting Resources to Educators

O’Neill School Grants

This program provides critical, targeted funding to schools across Ireland. These vital grants fund literacy, numeracy, science materials, and outdoor resources aimed at promoting outdoor play, physical activity, and learning.

Making third-level education more accessible

University Scholarships

The Partnership stands as a beacon of educational equity across Ireland, fostering a network of university access programs that span the breadth of the island. From the historic halls of Trinity College to the innovative campuses of Technological University Dublin, this initiative enables more students to study at a range of institutions.

Contributions beyond education

Community Development

The Partnership stands as a beacon of cultural preservation and societal advancement in Ireland. From Gaelic Athletic Associations to renowned theatres and museums, support extends across the country. Through these multifaceted efforts, the Partnership’s support connects cultural heritage and social progress, and in turn, enriches Ireland’s present and shapes its future.

Adapting to Ireland’s evolving landscape

Employment Learning

In light of Ireland’s evolving economic landscape, there is a pressing need for a comprehensive job training initiative tailored to the demands of the 21st century. It is this imperative that underpins the Partnership’s commitment to funding innovative programs such as Fast Track to Information Communication Technology (FIT).

Nurturing Ireland’s rich cultural history

Irish Arts, Sports & Cultural Heritage

The Partnership is dedicated to the nurturing of Irish culture through strategic collaborations with diverse institutions across the island of Ireland. Our programs span the spectrum of heritage and artistry, from Gaelic sports to museums and theaters. Notable examples include the historic Kylemore Abbey, Belfast’s innovative Metropolitan Arts Centre, and Galway’s Druid Theatre Company.

Championing peace across the island of Ireland

Peace & Reconciliation

The Partnership works in tandem with inclusive programs including Children in Crossfire, Unite Against Hate, Youth Link, Fighting Words Northern Ireland, and 174 Trust in their efforts to promote reconciliation and foster communities with a shared sense of humanity.

A well-rounded education

STEAM Education

Across Ireland, curriculums need to evolve with the rapidly changing landscape of the country itself in order for students to obtain a holistic educational experience and prepare them to enter the ever-changing world of employment opportunities.

Committing to our goal of inclusion for all

Integrated Education

In Northern Ireland’s educational landscape, Integrated Education is a cause at the center of progress. The Partnership supports organizations such as the Integrated Education Fund, which supports the establishment of new integrated schools and fosters cross-community initiatives that weave a fabric of understanding across generational and cultural lines.

Valuing social and emotional development

Empathy Education

Activating Social Empathy is an interactive, student-focused, social, and emotional learning program developed by Dr. Ciara Boylan and Professor Dolan at the UNESCO Child & Family Research Centre in 2017 as a resource tool for post-primary schools. Activating Social Empathy inspired Ionbhá: The Empathy Book for Ireland, edited by Cillian Murphy, Pat Dolan, Gillian Browne, and Mark Brennan, which features the works of individuals from all walks of life and many renowned figures–from President Michael D. Higgins to Bray-born pop star Hozier, to our very own CEO Mary Sugrue.

Education for homeless youth

Education Centers for Homeless Youth

The Partnership supports education centers for homeless youth, allowing all children to prosper, have access to an education system, and have an equal and meaningful opportunity to thrive.
