DAY TWO
The Partnership delegation enjoyed an uplifting second day of the Leadership Mission, beginning with meetings hosted at Fidelity Investments Ireland’s beautiful campus in Galway. There we heard of the tremendous reach and impact of the Western Seaboard Science Project in counties Clare and Kerry, with thanks to Dublin City University. Fastrack into Information Technology (FIT) CEO Peter Davitt also presented on the FIT programs of tech apprenticeships, training, and industry mentorship benefiting job seekers across the island.
From there it was a short journey to visit Dr. Pat Dolan and team at the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre, University of Galway to hear about the strategic growth and development of the Activating Social Empathy education program. Finally, we were honored to visit Atlantic Technological University Mayo campus in Castlebar for the first time. We were welcomed to the campus by university President Dr. Orla Flynn, where Partnership leaders presented a grant for their access and widening participation program.
