Kylemore Abbey – Monastery Campaign

Kylemore Abbey’s nuns are building a new Monastery – the first female Benedictine monastery in Ireland for 400 years. 

This is the most important project in their history and comprises a Spiritual Education & Retreat Center, where people of all faiths and none can experience tranquility and renewal on short courses and retreats, and Monastic Accommodation for their growing Benedictine community. The Monastery, with gardens and cloister, provides:

· Spaces for prayer for nuns, pilgrims, and visitors

· Education area for groups of up to 80 attendees and 2 smaller seminar rooms

· Residential accommodation for up to 10 guests on retreats and courses

· Visitor area for those interested in the spiritual life of Kylemore Abbey

· Monastic accommodation for 15 nuns and a dedicated novitiate space

· Chapter Room, Library, and Archive spaces.
