Kylemore Abbey – Monastery Campaign

Kylemore Abbey’s nuns are building a new Monastery – the first female Benedictine monastery in Ireland for 400 years. 


This is the most important project in their history and comprises a Spiritual Education & Retreat Center, where people of all faiths and none can experience tranquillity and renewal on short courses and retreats; and Monastic Accommodation for their growing Benedictine community.  The Monastery, with gardens and cloister, and provides

·  Spaces for prayer for nuns, pilgrims, and visitors

·  Education area for groups of up to 80 attendees and 2 smaller seminar rooms

· Residential accommodation for up to 10 guests on retreats and courses

· Visitor area for those interested in the spiritual life of Kylemore Abbey

· Monastic accommodation for 15 nuns and a dedicated novitiate space

· Chapter Room, Library, and Archive spaces.
