YOUNG PARTNERS HOLIDAY CELEBRATION
The Partnership’s Young Partners New York chapter celebrated the start of the holiday season with an evening of networking and celebration at The Westbury on December 2nd. We were delighted to gather with so many of our friends and supporters to reflect on another year of giving back to students, schools, and communities across Ireland.
Deputy Consul General Katie Daughen offered warm welcoming remarks, speaking about the strength of the Irish Diaspora and the impact of Partnership support in schools across the island. Young Partner Committee Co-Chairs Enda Crowley and Jane McCooey reflected on the year and shared a letter from Principal Tierney at Scoil San Phroinsias, a school in Co. Galway that has been designated as high-need by the Irish Government.
“Many of the children in our classrooms come from challenging backgrounds, and we are aware that many of our students find school hours to be the best, safest and happiest hours of their day. With this in mind, we challenge ourselves to give our students access to the same opportunities as children in any other school. We sincerely appreciate the support of the Irish American Partnership and the Young Partners.” – Principal Tierney
All proceeds from the event directly benefitted Scoil San Phroinsias, supporting the purchase of materials for an after-school club. The Partnership thanks our Young Partners for their participation, their generosity, and for making a meaningful difference for young people in Ireland.
Thank you to our official travel partner Aer Lingus for sponsoring our holiday raffle, and congratulations to our winner Marcus McKeown, who won round-trip tickets to Ireland!
